About FindCryptoCPA
FindCryptoCPA is a free directory of verified crypto tax CPAs across all 50 US states. Our goal is to help crypto investors connect with tax professionals who actually understand DeFi, NFTs, staking, and cross-chain activity — not generalists who will file a return and miss everything.
Why we built this
The crypto tax landscape is a mess. Only about 1.76% of crypto holders globally declare their taxes properly. Meanwhile, the IRS has increased crypto audits dramatically and sent hundreds of thousands of warning letters. Investors are scared, confused, and often unable to find a CPA who understands their situation.
The existing directories are either tied to a specific software company (Koinly, CoinTracker) or look like they were built in 2019. We built FindCryptoCPA to be independent, modern, and genuinely useful.
How we verify listings
Every CPA listed in our directory meets these minimum criteria:
- Active CPA license in at least one US state
- Documented experience with crypto tax filing (not just general tax)
- Publicly listed business with a real website and contact method
- At least one verifiable client testimonial or case example
We do not accept payment for listing order. Featured placements are clearly labeled. Our complexity score tool recommends whichever path is genuinely best for the user — including recommending software instead of a CPA when the situation is simple.
How we make money
FindCryptoCPA is supported by three revenue streams:
- Affiliate commissions from crypto tax software partners (Koinly, CoinTracker) when users sign up through our links
- Optional featured listings for CPAs who want extra visibility
- Display advertising
None of these affect our recommendations. If a user's situation is simple, we tell them to use software. If it's complex, we route them to the right CPA — regardless of whether that CPA pays us.
Not financial or tax advice
FindCryptoCPA is a directory and information resource. We are not a tax advisory firm, CPA, or law firm. Nothing on this site constitutes tax advice. Always consult a qualified professional about your specific situation before making tax decisions.
